Today, the Supreme Court of Canada held a ceremony to unveil their new Heraldic Emblems.

These Emblems (two badges and a flag) visually symbolize the values of the court and its role as a Canadian institution which has “helped shape our lives, our country and our society” for over 145 years.

Presented by:

The Right Honourable Chief Justice, Richard Wagner; Canada’s Chief Herald of Arms, Samy Khalid; and the Designated Registrar of the SCC (and Master of Ceremonies) Chantal Carbonneau.

You will see from the SCC twitter feed there are 7 judges in the photograph—would that be a 7:2 majority, with two in dissent?
